Coco Chanel once said, “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street. Fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.”
But we’d like to extend that quote a little further.
Fashion is in the season.
So let’s spring into our top five list of hottest fashion trends for the season, shall we?
#5: Conform to Norm
A current trend arising in the fashion world is a little thing that’s been named Normcore. The look of Normcore includes items like vintage baseball hats, neutral t-shirts, and tennis shoes. GAP makes the claim that they have been doing Normcore since the 60s. Now many high priced designers are joining the game. There are now different levels of Normcore for the thriftier shoppers or the more extravagant.
Now we aren’t telling you to break out the Adidas sweats quite yet, but this trend is allowing more room for the comforts of sportswear. Sporty silhouettes are often worn in bright geometric or metallic prints. And to top it off, make sure to reach the peak of chic and sport some sneaks.
#3 Pastel Party
Spring wouldn’t be spring without its vibrant bold colors, and this year is no exception, however when approaching your greens, purples, pinks, and coral, pastel is the way to go. Pastel button ups, shorts, and tees are a softer but noticeable way to spice up an otherwise bore of an outfit.
#2 Flower Power
Florals are all the rage and it’s no wonder why! Channel spring’s fantastically flowered fields in your fashion by rocking soft or bold floral prints on shorts, a tea-length skirt, a button-up, or a boxy shift blouse.
#1 Black & White
This color combo is the epitome of class, class, and more class. It’s an oldie but a goodie in the sense that it’s been around for awhile, yet ceaselessly manages to impress. The stark contrast is the perfect color palette for any occasion and, most importantly, any silhouette.
