Top 5 Apps I Can’t Live Without

Written by Kelsey Neier. Media by Kelsey Neier.

As technology continues to advance so do the ideas of app developers. There are many different apps to choose from in all different categories. Whether you’re creative, a fashionista, sports fanatic, social media junkie, hard core gamer or the king or queen of selfies, there are plenty of apps to suit your own personal taste. Here are five of my favorite apps that I absolutely can’t live without.

1. Pinterest

Pinterest is an app where you can search for just about anything (Fashion, Photography, Technology, Cars, Etc…) and “pin” or add it to your own personal board. You can create boards based on on your interests. For instance, I have a board for fashion based on my clothing style and a board for technology based on gadgets that interest me. Pinterest is an app that comes in handy when you see something you want to do or make. So if you see a recipe on how to make delicious chocolate lava cake, you can pin the recipe to one of your boards and can come back to it later when you’re hungry!

2. Facebook

Everyday we meet people and create new friendships with them. Our lives are always changing. Everyone loves to travel and share their thoughts and adventures with their loved ones. That’s where Facebook comes in! Facebook allows you to connect with your friends wherever they are and helps you stay connected to the people who mean the most to you. Through Facebook you can take pictures and show the world your new baby brother or sister, pet, where you have traveled, what you’re up to or how you’re feeling. It is a way of staying connected with family members and friends from all over the world.

3. Soundhound

Don’t you hate it when you hear a great song on the radio or in a restaurant and don’t know the name of it or who sings it? Soundhound is the solution to that problem. With Soundhound all you have to do it hit the orange Soundhound button once the app loads. From there it will listen to the song and provide very accurate results in a short amount of time. Soundhound will tell you the song’s name, who it’s by, and where to buy it. I cannot tell you how many times I’ve used this convenient and genius app in my everyday life.

4. Plants VS Zombies

Looking for some entertainment? Look no further. Plants VS Zombies is a game that provides action and strategical thinking. The zombies are coming to invade your house and eat your brain! In order to ward them off you must strategically position plants in your yard that will protect your home and your brain. It gets harder with each level as you are introduced to new zombies and plants. Be sure to check out the sequel Plants vs Zombies 2 as well! Here’s a sneak peak.

5. Vine

Want to share an epic six second video with the world? Then Vine is the app for you! Vine is a video-sharing app that allows you to shoot a full six second video or scenes split up to equal six seconds. It is used in real time so you can only create a video in that moment. You hold your finger to start recording and when you move it away the video stops. From there you can switch scenes to something else going on and record that too. Once your six seconds is up, you can view your masterpiece and upload it to your profile page. It’s crazy to see what videos other viners can create in six seconds or less. Josh Peck’s vines are my favorite!
