We’ve all been there. It’s the same old story. You go to the DC everyday, look around, and feel like there is no variety. There are the same choices and the same long lines. The repetition starts to get old, but many people find ways to be creative to escape the monotonous eating pattern. Sure, some people are content with what they choose, and are just fine having a sandwich everyday. However, there are always the rule breakers, the game changers, who mix up their food and make other people around them want to do the same. It’s true that if you look hard enough you can mix and match certain foods that actually taste pretty well together. For me, I love the stir fry line, but I kick it up a notch. I get my usual heap of rice, but I add in spinach, raisins, sunflower seeds, mushrooms, and the beans from the salad line. It might sound a little crazy at first, but I promise you that if you throw that together with some soy sauce, it’s one of the most delicious tastes you will ever experience while at the DC here at little ole’ Greenville College. I know I’m not the only one that likes to mix it up, so here are some other options that might make you consider trying something new.

My friend Andrea Newlin has an interesting twist on bread for a grilled chicken sandwich and she uses bagels instead of texas toast. She says that she really likes flavor and it certainly does look delicious!

My friend Thomas Hajny also has many useful tips. Thomas is quite the salad lover, but he mixes his salads up in an interesting way. Thomas encloses his salad in two bowls and shakes it up to thoroughly mix the dressing, leaves, and vegetables. He also likes to take a tortilla and turn it into a wrap by filling it with chicken or rice and then toasting the wrap. You can also add whatever vegetables you want into the wrap for a delicious new option. Thomas also recommends putting cream cheese and jelly on bagels. He says it is “the bomb.” One last tip from Thomas is to take ice cream and put it in a cup with some soda or milk and boom, you have a milkshake!
