Do you plan on getting a job before or after college? Does Greenville College help with this? The answer is yes! Greenville College’s Office of Career Services offers services such as helping students with resumes, cover letters, job board listings, interview preparation, job search strategies, professional development, and career fairs, along with other helpful information. The Office of Career Services is open Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is located in Snyder 101 behind the computer lab. The mission of this office is to “offer a Christ-centered educational experience that prepares students professionally and equips them to live lives of character and service.” Coordinator of Career Services, Kelli Pryor, does her best to enhance the knowledge of students all over campus and help them in specific areas they may struggle in.

Pryor shares, “The most rewarding part of my job is working with students. I really enjoy assisting them in writing resumes, cover letters, and helping them find in and off-campus jobs and internships. It’s great to be a part of their journey in exploring different career options and helping them connect with their future employers.” Businesses and organizations throughout the country email the Office of Career Services each week regarding job and internship opportunities for students. The office then posts the information on Greenville College’s Opportunities Board and the GC Career Services Twitter page to share with students seeking summer, full-time, part-time, on and off-campus positions.

Junior Taylor Paulin has been in the Career Services office multiple times this year. Paulin says, “Kelli assisted me this past year and helped me fill out paperwork for my internship, and she made sure I turned everything in on time. She also answered any questions I had. We need the Office of Career Services on campus because it gives good insight on the different careers there are, not only in Illinois but in different states, making it beneficial to every student. This is a reliable source to go to when needing assistance for future plans.”
As well as helping students individually, the Office of Career Service puts on a major event during the year for all students. The office is holding a career fair, and this year for the first time, the fair will be co-sponsored with Greenville Chamber of Commerce. The career fair will be located in the Crum Rec Center on Greenville College campus Wed., April 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Pryor adds, “The Greenville Career Fair will be a great opportunity for students to network with different businesses and organizations for internships and possible opportunities and job placements. It’s also a great opportunity for students to engage and connect with potential employers.” Greenville College’s Office of Career Services is a great tool for current students and graduating seniors to further their careers and get the most out of their education.
