Favorite Celebrity Couples

Written by Sarah Burgener. Media by Kayla Morton.

At the end of 2016, over 60 Hollywood couples called it quits. We watched our favorites split up, whether it was a broken engagement or broken by another. I think we all lost hope when Angelina Jolie filed for a divorce against her husband Brad Pitt. Then 2017 rolled around and couples started to actively update fans on their lives through social media and hope was restored. While the list of couples in Hollywood is long, there are a few that fans would label the best celebrity couples in the business.

  • John Legend and Chrissy Teigen. This couple first met on set for Legend’s “Stereo” music video and hit it off. It’s only fitting that Teigen later starred in the “All of Me” music video, which is inspired by his love for her. The couple is also very active with one another on Twitter. Legend and Teigen regularly reply to tweets made by their significant other with sarcastic and funny comments that show fans how relatable they are.

Barack and Michelle Obama. The public was first introduced to the couple’s romance during the campaign in 2007, but their story began earlier than that. The two met at the Chicago law firm he worked at because she was assigned to be his mentor. The Obamas entered the public eye with poise. While attending the U.S Olympic men’s basketball team’s game, the couple smooched for the “Kiss Cam.” Barack and Michelle Obama support each other in love which is why they are included on our list.

  • Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis. The couple is also known as the on-and-off-again couple, Kelso and Jackie, from “That 70’s Show.” Kunis told the public later that their on-scene kiss was her first and she was so nervous because she had a crush on him. They started dating during filming but eventually split up to date other people. During that time, they were still friends and Kutcher even got married. Years later, Kutcher announced his divorce and started to be photographed by paparazzi with Mila Kunis. They later got married and continue to be cute and under the radar.

Chip and Joanna Gaines. We watch their relationship on HGTV’s “Fixer Upper,” but the story of how they met makes us love them even more. Chip Gaines saw a picture of Joanna Gaines in her dad’s tire store and became interested in her. He even admitted to making excuses to stop by the store, but really, he just went to see her. After meeting and realizing they had shared interests, specifically in religion, they fell in love. Today we see their family on TV flipping houses and Gaines always finds a way to show his love to his wife even while they are working. This couple’s dedication to their relationship with God is why they are on our list.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. The two met on set for “Green Lantern” and became really good friends who eventually fell in love. For Reynold’s 40th birthday, the couple revisited the restaurant where they ate and danced on their first date. While accepting the best comedic performance at the MTV Awards, he paid tribute to his wife by saying, “I want to thank my wife, Blake. Everything I do is to make her laugh.”

In the midst of the spotlight, these couples have stayed strong and inspired young adults everywhere to believe in love. Their dedication and openness have connected with all of us in some way. Let us know of any celebrity couples you would add to our list!
