Last year was a very interesting and surprising year in movies. Many of the industry heads and reporters are worried about the overall financial returns, but there were a noticeable number of surprising financial successes. Despite the fears, 2017’s large array of high-quality and varying films should be seen as a major accomplishment.
Matt and I were joined by Audio student Deryk Rumbold to discuss some of the more celebrated films in 2017. Among our favorites were “Get Out,” “Blade Runner 2049,” “Dunkirk,” “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” and “Logan.” We also discussed Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, our opinions on it, as well as how we think that will impact the film industry.
