Hello Everyone! My name is Kelsey Neier, and I’m from Highland, Illinois. I am a sophomore digital media major with an emphasis on graphic design. I’m also minoring in English with an emphasis on creative writing and journalism. I wrote articles and did the digital media for Campus News my freshman year and have moved up to the Feature section editor this year! I am addicted to Pinterest and could spend hours playing Super Mario Bros. on the NES. I love photography, fashion and technology. I’m always interested in the latest phones, computers and cameras coming out. The arts have always held a special place in my heart as well. I performed in my high school plays “Night of the Living Dead”, “Dracula”, and “Medea”. I also worked backstage for the musicals “Into the Woods” and “Beauty and the Beast.”  I love being an editor for the Feature section because the articles we write are fun and varied. Remembering Jesus’s birth is what we should focus on first and foremost. We celebrate the birth of our Savior, and find peace in the fact that we will be with him when our physical life is over and spiritual life begins. Jesus is the core of Christmas, but there’s lots of other traditions families have that make Christmas special.

Written and media by Kelsey Neier. Fall is such a beautiful season. It’s when hot chocolate is flowing, scary movies are showing and big orange pumpkins are growing. If you’re like me then you made a mental note of partaking in fall activities and have every intention of crossing each one off. One activity that is on the very top of my bucket list is picking pumpkins. I love to go with my family every year to find the perfect pumpkin that is stable and has plenty of surface area for an artsy carving. My family has made many years of memories going to Daniken Tree Farm to pick out our perfect pumpkins.

Club ROOTS is a GCSA approved non profit organization that provides breakfast, lunch and snacks for children of families with insufficient funds in Sorento, Illinois. I sat down with Stephanie Rodriguez, a junior Communications major and Accounting minor, who is a member of Club ROOTS to talk a little but about what this organization's purpose is, and its plans for the future.

During this time of the year, people tend to get into the mood for Halloween by watching scary movies, playing pranks on each other and searching for places that will bring great fear upon them. Many people enjoy going on haunted hayrides, haunted trails and seeking out just about any place that will give them a thrill. If you do your research carefully, you can find some creepy places around Illinois.

When you need a coffee or a delicious jolt, than look no further than within Jo’ Java. Jo’s Java is a cool comfortable communal place where you can meet your friends and sip a hot coffee on a cool day or a cool drink on hot day.
