Cross Country Finishes High in Conference, Ready for Regionals

On November 2nd Greenville’s Male Cross Country team took third overall at the conference championship meet, and the lady panthers displayed respectable improvement with an unexpected 2nd place finish overall. The men’s team entered conference with a lot of momentum from impressive performances at the Louis Greater Louisville Classic (LGLC) and the Bradley Pink Classic. The panthers finished 7th out of 38 teams at the LGLC and 3rd out of 13 at the Bradley Pink Classic. As a result, Greenville was expected to perform extremely well at the conference meet, and the team had a mutual goal of taking first place. Unfortunately, the Panthers fell short of their goal. “By and large the team did okay. We possibly didn’t live up to our potential. However, some members of the team were still recovering from injury, and overall we’ve had better days as a team” said freshman runner, Jacob Burrell. ...

Volleyball Beats Rival Webster, Take Sole Posession of First in SLIAC

The Greenville Panthers were able to defeat the rival Webster Gorloks in a quick three sets on Tuesday Oct. 29. The first set rallied back and forth until Greenville slowly began to break away with a score of 11 to 9. As the set progressed the Panthers slowly stretched the deficit to four with a score of 18 to 14 in favor of Greenville. Eventually the Gorloks responded, and reduced the difference to only 1 point with a score of 22 to 21. ...

If you’ve ever head, “Watch out!” or “Excuse me!” yelled at you where shortly after someone went flying by on a longboard, you’ve probably seen one of the many longboarders that have surfaced in Greenville. While most people ride for fun, as a way to get from “point A” to “point B,” many others take longboarding as a sport. There are longboarding races all over the world, as well as trick competitions.
