It’s that time again…
It’s time for hearts to be plastered everywhere. It’s time for it to be okay for you to make a meal out of strictly chocolate (don’t mind if I do…). And it’s time for the last-minute scramble to find the perfect gift for that special someone.
Yep. It’s Valentine’s Day.
So what better way is there to celebrate this holiday of love than to make personalized gifts for each of those special people in your life?!
That may sound like a daunting task; but I can assure you that this quick, easy, and totally lovable picture block will surely change your mind!
So here’s what you’ll need to get started:
- Square plywood blocks
- Paint
- Paint brush
- ModPodge
- Sandpaper (if desired)
- Pictures printed on printer paper

The first step is to paint your blocks. I used red and purple because they’re Valentines-y colors.

As your blocks are drying, tear the edges of your pictures. Be careful and go slowly. This is just to give the edges some texture.

Once dry, take the sheet of sandpaper and scuff down the edges of the blocks. I love the vintage, worn-down look so I scuffed mine quite liberally.

Now, use your brush to apply a thin coat of ModPodge. Press the picture onto the block and let it dry for a couple of minutes.

Finally, apply one last, thin coat over the entire picture and let dry.

Voilà! It’s a perfect way to show your loved ones just how crafty you are this Valentine’s Day!
