Here at Greenville College, there is a group of people that have an understanding – an understanding of the importance of quality shoes that still look awesome. These are the people that own Chacos. I have put together a list of reasons why Chacos are not only the best shoes ever, but also how they have changed my life.

Personally, I call them my “adventure sandals.” I took my Chacos on WalkAbout last summer, and I was so happy that I did. They allowed me to take a break from my hiking boots, but still be able to trek through the woods without worrying about losing a shoe or hurting my feet. They are not only great for the woods, but really any summer outdoor activity! I wear them when I ride my bike, when I am out at the lake, or even when I am climbing trees. I never have to worry about losing one or not having traction, which is so important while being active in the summer.

While wearing my Chacos, I can be on my feet all day without my feet being sore later because of the foot-forming sole. I also wore them while I was a camp counselor last summer, and they were perfect for spending the day chasing kids around the camp, through the woods, and even down at the lake.

Chacos are incredibly unique, so other Chaco-lovers will spot you from a mile away, and you will have an immediate bond with that person! You are in a club that understands the importance of being committed to quality, stylish shoes.

Chacos straps are all one piece of durable fabric that runs through the sole of the shoe, so you can adjust the straps to fit your feet perfectly! I personally have wide feet, so they are nice because I never have to worry about my shoe not fitting my foot in the most comfortable way. The rubber sole also forms to your foot, so even though it takes a few wears to break them in, your Chacos are tailored personally for you.

I hate socks! They make me feel confined, and that’s just how I am. So putting socks and tennis shoes on in the summer is awful for me whenever I need to wear shoes good for outdoor activities. Chacos allow me to have a durable shoe that is not going to break like flip flops and will protect my feet, without making me feel constricted by tennis shoes.

Let’s be real, who is not incredibly proud when they get an incredible tan line from those signature criss-cross straps??

Even though Chacos are fairly expensive for a pair of shoes, they are built to last. You will never have to worry about replacing a worn out pair simply because of their strength. The rubber soles allow them to handle any substance and can be easily restored to their original state. They are hands-down the most durable pair of shoes I own, and I no longer have to worry about flip flops that break after three wears!

Long story short, go get yourself a pair of Chacos. They will change your life too!

  1. Great article, though I am a TEVA and Birkenstock man myself… you may have convinced me to try the Chacos upon next purchase.
