She is a leader on and off the court, as evidenced by having the best field goal percentage in the conference, while also portraying a joyful and lovable personality. You may have guessed it but our GC Athlete of the week is Missy Deal. The Greenville Women’s Basketball team is beyond proud of the accomplishments and improvement she has made this year. Coach Roy Mulholland states, “As a player Missy has worked hard and improved every year. She is having her best year yet, and it is fun to watch her play with the skill set she has developed. Off the court she is a natural leader, and leads with her joyful spirit and positivity. Missy is uniquely gifted, and never fails to make us all laugh.” Missy has spent her four years at Greenville College as a part of the Greenville Women’s basketball team and has been a huge part of the program. On Wednesday at Iowa Wesleyan, Deal contributed a team-high 17 points to go along with five rebounds and three assists.
The Lady Panthers are currently ranked second in the SLIAC and will play their next game against a tough Eureka team this Saturday, Feb. 20th, 1:00 pm, at H.J. Long. The women’s basketball team suffered a loss in their last match-up against the Eureka Red Devils so the both teams will work hard to generate an exciting rematch.
