Spring Break Full Of Baseball

The Week
A little bit of rain didn’t stop the Greenville College Baseball team from playing seven games down in Auburndale, Fla. during spring break. The team started their trip by leaving Greenville at 8:30 Friday night. Before arriving in Florida the team stopped at the University of Auburn to get a short practice in before having their first game. Along with practicing, they went and watched a Florida vs. Mizzou baseball game in Gainesville, Fla. On Sunday the guys, along with the Greenville College Softball team, attended church at Light and Life Free Methodist Church. After church both teams went and had lunch together before departing for their houses. Monday, the team returned to the diamond with a double header against Bowdin College. GC dropped both games, falling 2-4 in the opener and 3-16 the second. On Tuesday they had another double header against Grinnell and split the two games 6-8 the first game and won the second 10-1. Wednesday the boys had a day off, with some going to the beach and others went out to spend time with their families. Thursday came and the boys were back at it again with a double header against St. Scholastica. The Panthers ended up splitting with the first game going into extra innings, resulting in a Panther win, with the score 7-6 and losing the second game 1-8. On Friday the boys gained another day off thanks to rain. GC gave it all they had against St. Norbert College and defeated them with a score of 10-5 on Saturday in their final day in the Sunshine State.
