Love is in the air at Greenville University. Couples are planning their Valentine’s Day dates, friends are coordinating pizza and ice cream night, and I am personally going to watch Everything, Everything and continue my binge session of ER. February is a wonderful month full of so many things to do (not including all of our classwork.) Sometimes we need a pick-me-up from everything keeping us so busy in life. Jo’s Java has just the thing for you this February! The famous campus coffee shop has made a special menu just for this month, and I have to say that all of the items on the menu are absolutely amazing.
This drink is bursting with white chocolate and raspberry flavor. It’s been around for a few years now, and many people seem to enjoy it a lot. The sweetheart special is a personal favorite of Whitney Nichols because she loves the fruity raspberry flavor. “I really like fruity drinks and this one is perfect.”
It may still be a little chilly outside, but who doesn’t love a yummy frappe? The love potion frappe is made with mocha, vanilla flavoring, and caramel. After trying this drink, I fell in love. Frappes have always been a personal favorite of mine, but this is one drink I’ll be ordering again in the future.
This is my favorite drink on the specials menu. Created by the amazing barista Kristen Davis, the McLovin’ latte is made with white chocolate and hazelnut flavoring. Kristen says “I got the name from McDonald’s. I made the drink and thought about ‘I’m lovin’ it’ and it became a thing.” It kind of tastes like the autumn soother from the fall specials menu, but with coffee and WAY better. I love this drink a lot and it will definitely become my go-to drink at Jo’s from now on. If you didn’t know, you can order these drinks after their special season. The baristas can make them year-round. I know which drink I’ll be ordering from now on!
4. Red Velvet Cream Cheese Muffin
The fourth and final item on the February specials is the red velvet muffin. The name gives away what it consists of. A simple and delicious red velvet muffin with a bit of cream cheese on top. Jo’s seems to run out of these pretty quick, so you better grab one early while you can!
Jo’s Java has something for everyone. Whether it’s a plain black coffee, a sweet frappe, or just getting a muffin before a class, Jo’s will always provide. The atmosphere of the shop is cozy and inviting. SO come in, get something to drink, and enjoy some time with a friend or even someone special.
