Following the Latest from Bethel Music
If you have not heard the music coming out of Bethel Church in Redding, California, you have got to check it out. Really, I cannot imagine how you could have not come across them earlier, because they have been contributing to the world of Christian worship music for years.
Young and Free; New worship for a new generation.
Worship music is often criticized for being boring and unoriginal. Every once in a while though, a new artist arrives on the scene and changes things up. Hillsong Church, based out of Sydney, Australia, is known world wide for writing and producing many of the popular worship songs used in churches all over the world under a variety of different artist names.
C2E2: Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo
Last weekend I traveled to Chicago for their yearly comic book convention, C2E2, and it was the most fun I’ve had in a while. Now, if you’re following my articles you know that I went to Wizard World Comic Con a few weeks ago in Saint Louis, and enjoyed my time there as well. However, the scale of C2E2 in comparison to Wizard World alone puts WizCon to shame. Our first day there we didn’t even touch half of the show room floor.
Christian Genre Spotlights: A Guide to New Music Discoveries
When asking people about their thoughts on Christian music, I got a lot of people saying that they don't listen to Christian music or they are not a big fan of Christian music. A lot of people brought up the point that "it all sounds the same" or "it is just not the style of music I like." When you hear "Christian music" does K-LOVE pop into your mind? Yet, there is so much more than just K-LOVE, there is actually a lot of different genres within Christian music other then the songs played on the typical Christian radio station. I have made a list and included videos along with them to maybe help you discover new genres or artists that sing for the Kingdom of God.
Burial At Sea Episode 2 Review
The worst part about finishing Bioshock Infinite’s latest DLC, Burial At Sea Episode 2, is knowing that it’s the last time we’ll get to play in the Bioshock world. Well, at least one made by Irrational. As we learned recently, they are closing the studio and Ken Levine is moving to a different IP. This being their swan song, it leads to hope that it holds up to the series precedent set by the first Bioshock and Infinite with writing and gameplay.

Freakville
On October 30th Greenville College’s Music Business Department held the 2nd Annual Freakville Halloween event. Last year’s Freakville was full of top-notch humor and good times, and this year proved to be no different. But in case you couldn’t make it out (perhaps you were sitting in a four hour class or maybe you felt compelled to watch the World Series), here’s a wrap-up of what went down.
Harvey Coming Soon to the Factory Theatre
While Greenville College’s Factory Theatre has seen some change over the last couple years, the show must go on! In light of this motif, seasoned director Cecelia Ulmer has returned from retirement to provide a little help during a time of transition at the theatre. However, this means that you know that this show is in good hands. Having been a part of the Factory Theatre since before any of us can remember, Dr. Ulmer knows the ins and outs of theatre like no one else on campus, and she is proud to present for this year’s fall performance Harvey by Mary Chase.
