Growing Concerns over Mali Terrorism

After Islamic radicals began to push southward in Mali, France intervened with military force last Friday. The French defended the military action, claiming that they were worried the terrorists would march on Bamako, the capital of Mali, which could create a wide security threat for much of the region. Now, half a week after France’s initial involvement, the UN has come out in support, and it looks as though the United States might get involved as well.

It wasn’t until a student let me know (extremely regretfully, I might add) that he needed to choose to study for an important test over attending class, that I finally got the picture. Teachers are awesome – I can think of three professors right off the top of my head that have impacted my life in incredible ways – but they don’t have magical formulas that can turn students into genies (that’s the plural of genius, right?).
GC Colorado Extreme
Greenville College offers a diversity of classes for the thrill-seeker during Interterm, but not every thrill is available on-campus. Some, as in the case of DM170 (GC Colorado Extreme), take place miles and miles away from campus. Not only is the GC Colorado Extreme team miles away from Greenville, they are thousands of feet above it too.
