Human trafficking: the illegal movement of people, typically for the purposes of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation. Human trafficking is something that I believe is not covered enough in the media but is a very serious topic that continues to affect people all over the world. Every two minutes a child is stolen and forced into slavery. The United States is a destination for an average of 48 illegally trafficked slaves daily. An organization called the Set Free Movement is aiming to break this chain and bring more awareness to the fact that there are currently more slaves worldwide than there have ever been in history.

Greenville Art Walk: A Celebration of our Local Artists

The Greenville community gathered this Saturday, September 21, for its annual celebration of local artists. Artisans from the town of Greenville extending out to the greater St. Louis area spent the evening sharing their craft with the community. Main events included the Piety Choi Art Exhibition, Our Common Ground Artists Guild, as well as “Glitch Art” displayed in the College’s Digital Media Center.
