It was a tough season for the Lady Panthers soccer team. Our non-conference schedule was very difficult. But the teams that we played prepared us for our conference competition. As we moved into conference play, the team played very well. The way that we had stood together throughout the losses we suffered from other teams, allowed us a team bond that may not have been there otherwise. When teams inside of our conference looked at our preseason record, they would often count us out, but that just meant that they underestimated our ability to fight back, and that fight is what characterizes our team.
What are you going to do when steroids become legal? I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to suggest that at some point in the near future anabolic steroids will not only be legal, but will be allowed within competitive sports like any other supplement. This will pose a problem to Christians that goes far beyond the fairness of such an allowance. The problem that will be faced is one already playing out: how far are we willing to go for victory?
Although a lot of regions in America are still trying to figure out why it is so cold, training camps in sunny Florida and Arizona are opened up, and Major League ball players are preparing for opening day. As Die hard baseball fans all hop on the Ozzie Smith bandwagon to make opening day a national holiday, smaller fans grow skeptical over all of the new changes implemented in the sport this offseason.
This past week the Lady Panthers won one of two games as they began to wrap up the final touches of their season. On Wednesday the Ladies suffered a loss to Webster as they could not overcome a poor shooting first half. Senior, Emily Gundy kept the Panthers alive, converting on four of her five first half field goals, including two three pointers.
The Lady Panthers are coming off of a split week losing to Westminster on Wednesday and securing a win against Blackburn on Saturday. The week started off a bit grisly as the ladies fought on the road.
