Last year the news of $1 billion dollars worth of stolen historical art kept in Cornelius Gurlitt’s, apartment in Munich, Germany came to light on November 6, 2013. During the spring of 2011 many of the art pieces stolen by the Nazi’s were found due to an investigation by Bavarian tax authorities who broke in Gurlitt’s apartment for a suspected tax evasion.
