Happy Fall Break! In honor of this joyous long weekend, we here at the Papyrus thought you would all benefit from a handy playlist to rock out to as you undoubtedly drive home.  We have got classic driving songs, top forty hits, and some songs that defy all categories.

Here I Go Again – Whitesnake

There’s really nothing quite like driving to hair bands, and the song opens with some sweet synth.  If nothing else, just listen to the lyrics, “An’ here I go again on my own, Goin’ down the only road I’ve ever known.” If that does not describe your journey home I don’t know what will.

Roar –Katy Perry

This is quite simply on of the best pump up songs out right now.  Katy Perry encourages everyone to find their voice and speak out, and it’s so darn catchy!

Let the Good Times Roll – Ben Rector

First of all, if you are not listening to Ben Rector, you should be.  He has produced some of the best feel-good pop music out right now.  Let the Good Time Roll is a great song for escaping the stress of school in exchange for the fun of Fall Break.

That’s My Kind of Night – Luke Bryan

I know we all go to GC, so admitting to being a fan of country music is pretty embarrassing.  The truth is, though, that there is nothing to be ashamed of.  Country is catchy, fun, and perfect for a long drive.  So throw on some Luke Bryan–nobody is judging you!

Oh Henry – The Civil Wars

And if you are still nervous about the whole country thing, try some top-notch folk music.  The Civil Wars are one the most popular singer/songwriter duo of all time, and their recently released self-titled album is stunning.  Crank up “Oh Henry” for a great cheating song.

The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?) – Yivis

Just think of how impressed all of your friends would be if you came back from fall break with all the words to this song memorized. Consider that a challenge to you all.

Don’t You Worry Child – Swedish House Mafia

This playlist would be seriously lacking without any house music.  As the song, which marks the end of Swedish House Mafia as a band, “Don’t You Worry Child” gains even more epic points.  Plus, it’s great for a little alone-in-my-car-but-I’m-not-embarrassed-dance-party.

Best Day of My Life – American Authors

You have a long weekend; of course this is the best day of your life. Also, banjo = fall.

On Top of the World – Imagine Dragons

Similarly, you should be on top of the world.  You survived the fist half of the semester. Additionally, this is a great song for clapping and whistling along.  Who doesn’t love that?!

Can’t Hold Us – Macklemore and Ryan Lewis

Macklemore couldn’t have said it any better when he proclaimed that the city can’t hold us.  Let’s be honest, we all know you’ve been itching to bust out of Greenville for weeks now.  Fall break is your chance.  Just be sure not to put your hands up for too long while driving.
