Elon Musk on SNL

Elon Musk, Technoking of Tesla and Imperator of Mars, will be hosting Saturday Night Live on May 8th with Miley Cyrus. This has caused controversy in the news lately as SNL’s cast has not been fond of this decision. Christian Schmidt, a long-time fan of the Dogefather, shared his thoughts of Musk hosting SNL.

“Usually, I wouldn’t care to watch SNL, but with Elon Musk hosting, I will be sure to tune in,” Schmidt stated.

SNL Cast Criticism

After the announcement of Musk being on SNL, he took to Twitter to share his thoughts saying, “Let’s find out how live Saturday Night Live really is.” Bowen Yang, a cast member of SNL, replied to his tweet with, “What the f— does that even mean?” Cast member Andrew Dismuke also replied to Musk’s tweet, saying, “Only CEO I want to do a sketch with is Cher-E Oteri.” Oteri was a former SNL cast member and also an American actress. Musk is not the only upcoming host to be criticized, though. In 2015, Donald Trump was announced to be the host on SNL. He received a lot of backlash instantly as this was when he was in the midst of running for president. Another less recent host to receive backlash was Andrew Dice Clay, known for making rude and sexist jokes.

Why Is Musk Hated?

Musk is one of the most straightforward, richest people in the world. He will tell you how it is with no hesitation. With Musk being “at the top” financially, haters are bound to be out there. People claim he is too immature and is only appealing to younger generations. Others disagree with him politically, so they throw a fit. Some are just jealous of what he has been able to do with his companies like Tesla and SpaceX. In reality, Musk wants to do right for the people. He is an honest man, wanting to give back to the people through his companies. His triggering tweets fuel people’s rage toward him, but he is quite enjoyable to listen to. Musk is proof that hard work pays off and that there will always be haters. SNL should not be hating on Musk at this point. SNL has been irrelevant nowadays, so with Musk on the show, I believe they will see their numbers spike.

What to Expect on SNL

It is hard to say what will happen when Musk hosts SNL. I am sure he will get a lot of backlash, regardless of what he says or does. I’m sure something will come up about space travel or electric vehicles. Musk receives criticism well, so whatever happens, be sure to keep track of his Twitter afterwards. People are also hoping to see Dogefather say something about Dogecoin. Schmidt added, “I am waiting for Musk to tweet sometime later this week to boost Dogecoin and talk about it at some point on SNL.” Musk’s tweets boost the meme stock, so investors will be paying close attention for any hints at the cryptocurrency. Dogecoin to the moon!
