Both the Men and Women’s Panther Track Teams traveled to Cedarville, Illinois to compete at Nationals this weekend. The men placed 6th overall.

Bruce Gray broke the school record in the 55m dash with a time of 6.39. He also won the 200m and was part of the 4×200 relay that placed 4th. As a result of his successes, Gray was named the NCCAA Male Runner of the Meet.
The 4×800 relay consisting of Nathan Allyn, Nathan Potts, Andrew Sharp, and Parker Wray set a new school record with a time of 8:00.34 but finished second, only losing by .04 seconds.

Senior Bryan Waugh was the only other male to earn all American honors. They are given to those who finished in the top 3. He finished 3rd in the men’s weight throw.
The women also performed very well.
Chelsea Gilles was NCCAA National Champion in the women’s 400m. She ran an indoor personal best of 58.34 which was a 1.5 seconds better than she had previously ran.
Krissy Finley ran well in her events (DMR, 4×800 and open 800). She split a 2:24 800 meter in leading off our women’s 4×800 team.

The 4×200 relay with Chelsea Giles, Josie Muniania, Iyeesha DeBerry, and Alex Gregory finished 8th. The 4×800 relay also finished 8th with Krissy Finley, Jordie File, Brooke Goodyear, and Rachel Renshaw.
Congratulations to our GC Men and Women Track teams!
