When the Panthers finished up the regular season with five wins in a row, all of their momentum looked as if it would surge them to the final round of the conference tournament, and that’s exactly what happened. On Saturday the Panthers matched up against the one seed, Webster Gorloks for the championship round, but could not quite juice out a victory, claiming second place in the SLIAC Tournament in Highland, Ill.

It has been said, “A track meet is a lot like life.” You take the good. You take the bad. You take them both and there you have what happens over the course of a full day track meet. This past weekend the men’s and women’s track teams traveled to compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Indoor Championships hosted by Olivet Nazarene University. In order to compete in the two-day competition, student-athletes had to meet qualifying marks in all individual events. The Panthers were represented by 41 qualifiers and relay entrants.

Growing up in Montana, we often had to find ways to have fun with the snow to stay sane through our winters, which seem to last for about half the year. When I was younger, that started out as sledding and snow forts, but once high school hit, it turned into building ski jumps wherever and whenever possible.
