Top 5 Actors Who Will Never Die

Everyone wants to be an actor. Even people who have already made it big in other industries like music seem to make their way into Hollywood and on the big (or small) screen. Few of these aspiring actors end up achieving their goal, and even fewer will be remembered forever for their accomplishments. Here is a list of five actors who will forever be remembered, whether they are still with us or not, for their memorable skill and charisma in front of the camera.

5. Jimmy Stewart

This is an easy one. Unfortunately, Jimmy Stewart has been dead for quite some time. It’s been even longer since he’s starred in a feature film. Even so, the movies he was in are such timeless classics, he will be easily remembered for many more years to come. Films like It’s a Wonderful Life will be viewed for many Christmas’ to come. Not only that, but he is the male lead of the movie that just recently was moved to the top spot of the “Best Films of All Time” as voted by critics, Vertigo. Jimmy Stewart is a perfect example of how a person’s acting can transcend the era, and it will never feel outdated.

4. Samuel L. Jackson

Now taking a complete 180 turn in acting style, Samuel L. Jackson is a tad different than Jimmy Stewart. Jackson is still alive and kicking, and thank God he is. He may have a few questionable film decisions under his belt (one which is NOT Snakes On a Plane), but what actor doesn’t? He, again, has the charisma that will never be forgotten, which has already been parodied years ago by comedian Dave Chappelle on his sketch comedy show. Jackson is one of those actors that brings people the desire to want to see a film, and that will never end, even after his death.

3. Tom Hanks

There isn’t much else to say to back this up, other than the man’s name. Tom Hanks is one of the few actors who needs little defense for his work. His acting simply speaks for itself. Not only this, but he seems to be a genuinely nice man, who can also be funny (as his numerous rom-com roles and 30 Rock have shown.) Movies like Forrest Gump and Saving Private Ryan will continue being watched by people for years and years to come.

2. Leonardo DiCaprio

Leo has proven to be a powerhouse when it comes to acting. Even in films that weren’t that great, he shines as the star of the cast. He has been building his filmography year after year and his acting just keeps getting more and more impressive. It’s hard to believe the little kid from What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? would end up being such a huge name in Hollywood. It really is hard to disagree that an actor with films like The Wolf of Wallstreet, The Departed, and Titanic will ever be forgotten.

1. Heath Ledger

For the last name on this list, I will take it back to an actor who has unfortunately passed away, in this case in a time far too soon. It seems as though Ledger was in the middle of the transformation we are seeing now with Matthew McConaughey. He may have started as a romantic comedy actor, with his breakout Ten Things I Hate About You, but he was making sure to break free of the “pretty boy” type cast. He first showed he needed to be taken seriously as an actor with Brokeback Mountain. Now, he will forever be remembered as portraying one of the scariest versions of the Joker in The Dark Knight. It’s sad to think this was the role that would have, and did, change everyones mind about the actor for good. He proved everyone wrong (something Affleck is on track to doing with Batman) when he showed he is not only a smart actor, but a versatile one. It’s easy to say that he will forever be remembered, and that his version of the iconic character will always stay imprinted in our nightmares.
