Lady Panthers Drop Double Header at Fontbonne, Streak Ends at Eight
The Lady Panthers lost both games in the double header against Fontbonne this past Saturday. Prior to this weekend’s losses the Panthers had been riding an eight game winning streak, capitalized by six straight conference wins. Unfortunately in the midst of this hot streak, the infamously crazy Midwest weather put the Panthers momentum on a halt when they had to postpone Thursday’s double header against Principia.
GC Baseball Wins another Series, Improve Conference Record to 7-3
This past weekend the Panthers took two out of three games against Fontbonne, claiming another series win against a fellow SLIAC team.
The Panthers started the series in fine fashion on Friday at home, defeating the Griffins 14-7. However, the ball game was not the pounding that the final score suggests. In an otherwise solid first inning from starting pitcher Dylan Bone, an infield error caused an unearned run to score. As walks piled up for the Griffins they were able to score five more runs in the next two innings, going up 6-0 before the Panthers chance to bat in the third.
Men’s Tennis Finishes Spring on a Winning Note
The GC Men’s Tennis team headed south last week, for their annual trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Due to inclement weather, the Panthers were looking to shake off some rust. They had not played a match in nearly three weeks.
Men’s Basketball Tops Dominican in Home Opener
The Greenville Men’s Basketball team defeated Dominican on Saturday with a final score of 93-65. The win extended Greenville’s winning streak to three games. The Panthers showcased their fast paced new offense, and the action was a lot of fun to watch
